Dr. Ivonne Castro graduated from dental school in 1994 at the top of her class. She completed a two-year post graduate general practice residency in Cleveland, Ohio and has extensive dental training in implant surgery. In 2013, Dr. Castro completed a one-year maxi course with the American Association of Implant Dentistry and is certified in conscious sedation, offering different levels of sedation to ensure that patients with dental anxiety have the best dental experience available.
Dr. Castro became a dentist because as a young child she had a really bad experience with her first dental visit. It took her years to overcome the fear of going to the dentist, and now she makes sure that no patient in her care has to go through the same experience.
Dr. Castro is bilingual, speaking both Spanish and English. She is an Associate Affiliate Fellow of the American Association of Implant Dentistry and an active member of the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, the New Orleans Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the American Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Castro is committed to continuing education and takes many advanced courses each year to enhance her skills to better serve the dental care needs of her patients and provide them with a gentle and comfortable dental experience.
Dr. Castro fully embraces biofunctional dentistry which connects oral health with systemic health so your outcome can be more predictable.
In her free time, Dr. Castro enjoys being a wife to her husband Billy of 10 years and her young children, Ethan and Emily.
